Giovanni Carnevali, in his first week as Juventus CEO, has placed Edon Zhegrova among the players the club intends to sell this summer, with sides from Türkiye already identified as potential destinations for the 27-year-old forward.

The significance of that decision extends beyond one player. Carnevali's arrival has produced an immediate and explicit hierarchy at the club: four players are untouchable, and Zhegrova is not among them. For a forward who managed zero goals and zero assists across 18 Serie A appearances this season, averaging a rating of 6.70, the arithmetic of his situation is difficult to argue with. Juventus are sixth in the table with 68 points from 37 matches, a position that demands sharper attacking returns from every member of the squad. Zhegrova did not provide them.

The broader context is a club attempting to raise approximately €50 million through outgoing transfers before reinvesting. Carnevali has moved quickly, confirming priorities in a first meeting with Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti and signalling that the majority of the signings made under his predecessor Damien Comolli are available for sale. Zhegrova falls into that category. His AI overall rating of 55 out of 100 suggests a player whose ceiling, while not negligible, has not been reached at Juventus — and may not be reached there.

The Turkish interest is the most concrete development in his exit picture. Whether those clubs can meet Juventus's valuation as part of the €50 million target is the operative question. A move to Türkiye would represent a significant step down in competitive level from Serie A, but for a player whose output this season offered little leverage in negotiations with top European clubs, the options are shaped by the numbers he produced — or failed to produce.

Carnevali's restructuring is still in its early stages, and the transfer window has not yet opened in full. Zhegrova's departure, if it materialises, will be one data point in a much larger exercise. But his position in the squad is now defined: available, priced to sell, and waiting for a buyer to arrive.
