Edon Zhegrova, the Juventus forward, is edging closer to a summer departure from Turin, with sides in Türkiye identified as the most concrete suitors as new CEO Giovanni Carnevali moves to reshape the squad he inherited.
The significance is structural. Carnevali, who officially began his role on Monday, has already met with Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti and confirmed four untouchable players — Zhegrova not among them. The Kosovar winger is instead part of a group the club hopes will generate around €50m in outgoing transfers before the window closes. That Carnevali acted within days of taking charge signals how little ambiguity surrounds Zhegrova's future at the club.
The numbers behind that decision are not difficult to read. In 18 Serie A appearances this season, Zhegrova contributed zero goals and zero assists, carrying an average match rating of 6.70. For a forward of 27 — an age at which most attackers are operating at or near their ceiling — those returns represent a meaningful gap between expectation and output. His AI overall score of 55 out of 100, with a potential ceiling of 62, suggests the ceiling itself is modest. Carnevali, whose background is in building squads with precision rather than sentiment, is unlikely to have needed much persuading.
Juventus sit sixth in Serie A with 68 points from 37 matches, a record of 19 wins, 11 draws, and 7 defeats. The attacking return of 59 goals across the campaign is reasonable without being exceptional, and Spalletti will want more dynamism and directness from the wide positions next season. Zhegrova's profile, as the data stands, does not fit that ambition.
The Turkish interest is the practical outlet. It offers Zhegrova a move to a competitive league where he can reclaim form and minutes, and it offers Juventus a clean exit that contributes to the €50m target without requiring a protracted negotiation with a rival Serie A club.
Carnevali's first week has been defined by clarity. Zhegrova is available, the market has responded, and the exit corridor is open.
